Choose Your Registration Scheme

HVS - Historic Vehicle Scheme

For stock or original vehicles that are 30 years or older. Your vehicle must be as close to original condition as possible.

CVS - Classic Vehicle Scheme

For modified vehicles that are 30 years or older. Ideal if your classic has period modifications or upgrades.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a financial member of The Fiat Club (Fiat Club - X1/9 Australia Pty Ltd)
  • Own a vehicle that is 30 years or older
  • Vehicle must meet scheme-specific condition requirements

How to Register Your Vehicle

  1. Join The Fiat Club

    Ensure your membership is current before starting the registration process.

    Join or Renew Membership

  2. Get a Safety Inspection (Pink Slip)

    Visit an authorised inspection station for a safety check. Some exemptions may apply.

  3. Visit Service NSW

    Take your documents to complete the registration. First year costs approximately $100 (includes CTP), then ~$51/year for renewals.

  • Proof of Identity

    Your current NSW Driver Licence

  • Proof of Ownership

    Original receipt or invoice for the vehicle

    Only required if the vehicle is not yet registered in your name

  • Safety Inspection Report (Pink Slip)

    From an authorised inspection station

  • Historic or Classic Vehicle Declaration Form

Annual Driving Allowance

60 Days

Plus unlimited official club events which do not count towards the 60 days

Remember: Complete your log book before any private trip. No log book entry is required for official club events.
