Im regretfully selling this totally original Bertone designed 1972 Fiat Dino 2+2 coupe. This model has the same Ferrari 2.4L Dino V6 engine as seen in its famous cousin, the Ferrari Dino. It has a 5-speed dog-leg manual transmission. These cars were built by Ferrari alongside the 246 Dino in the Marinello plant in order for Ferrari to qualify to use this engine in formula 2 racing. This car has impeccable provenance, coming from the Late Rene Rivkin’s personal collection. Recently had $15k worth of general service done, the car is in remarkable original condition. This service included a full rebuild of all three Webbers and a fuel tank restoration, The car is ready to be enjoyed now . Some points of interest – • The Fiat Dino 2400 was unveiled at the Turin Motor show in 1969. The new, larger 2400 V6 had increased its power to 132 kW using a new cast iron engine block in place of the previous light alloy version. • The most noticeable benefit of this increased displacement was a considerable increase in available torque – particularly at lower RPM’s. • The advanced Magneti Marelli Dinoplex C electronic capacitive discharge ignition was developed exclusively for the high-revving Dino V6. • Whilst the original 2000 Dino utilized a rigid axle suspended by leaf springs and four shock absorbers, the new 2400 engine cars introduced a new fully independent coil-sprung rear suspension. • The car also has four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes - the upgraded Girling brake package of the Dino 2400 were also used by other manufacturers such as De Tomaso and Lamborghini.
