I bought this car in 2019 from Zagame Motors in Melbourne. It’s my second Abarth and my daily driver. It is an Abarth 595 Competizione, with 180HP, Sabelt bucket seats, Record Monza exhaust, Koni suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels. I’ve installed a 7 inch touch screen display, tinted windows, sounds system with sub in the boot, and most recently a baby seat (which no one thought would work). It does mean loading a baby through the boot, which can be a little bit of a funny sight.
1979 Fiat Series 1.5
I bought this car, my fourth Fiat and my first X1/9 in January 2019 after negotiating a price with the previous owner. A story about the trip to Hobart and back can be found here https://murcam.byethost5.com/fiat/fiatx19.html I spent many a happy day driving my X with just a few trips on the back of a towtruck, until the 2nd of Oct 2024 when I ran into the rear end of another car as seen in one of the photos, the car is now in the hands of John Black in Vic and I hope it will be back on the road soon.
2014 Fiat Panda
I purchased my Panda new in 2014. I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted another car but it was very discounted so I took it for a test drive. That sealed the deal. The amazing little TwinAir engine is a star. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, even after 60000km. It has many other virtues that help keep the romance alive. 😀❤️
1982 Fiat X1/9
"I have always wanted an X1/9 and finally took the jump. I found a solid series 2 in Melbourne so flew down to buy it. Main criteria was no rust so it passed. I have had plenty of old car issues that have been resolved with the help of Mark W. If I was not a member of X1/9 Australia I would not be driving around in it because either it was not working or I had no money left." — Phillip V.
1982 Fiat X1/9
Bought in 2020 from my late friend Peter Bartold. Rebuilt engine, brakes, new dash and suspension update, by Ashley Stone (while I watched and cleaned parts) during a number of weekends over 2 years. Wheels donated by another friend Matt Gill, who bought the wheels off me 10 years earlier. They were the alloys my parents bought for our original car, back in the 80s. Cars first outing was in 2023, to compete in tbe Fiat Nationals, where is won 1st and 2nd in its class in the super sprint. It’s now used for attending events, track days and being driven by family and friends.
1982 Fiat X1/9
It took me 40 years to get my first X1/9 after looking at what was for sale in 2018 I found a fully restored one for sale in Hobart (you can read all about the trip home in my first X at x19.au2.com ).
